Why I Built BRUTO: A Bold Template for Makers Who Want to Stand Out

Hi everyone 👋 I’m Adam, a web developer and designer who loves experimenting with bold, standing out styles.

Over the years, I noticed a recurring problem: many SaaS founders and indie makers launch with bland landing pages. They either buy generic templates that look like 100 others, or spend too much time coding from scratch — when they should be focusing on the product.

I wanted to find a way to solve this issue.

That's why I created BRUTO

BRUTO is my idea on a neo-brutalist landing page template — designed to be bold, unapologetic, and instantly recognizable but also clear and easily readable.

Instead of yet another clean-but-forgettable template, BRUTO helps your product make a statement.

Here’s what’s inside:

  • Base Edition → simple, customizable with CSS variables

  • Pro Edition → extra components like FAQ accordions, testimonial blocks, mosaic gallery, and pricing tables

  • Dev Edition → full SCSS + bundler setup for maximum flexibility

Why Neo-Brutalism?

Most templates lean into minimalism. But I kept asking myself: what’s the opposite of blending in?
When I saw Gumroad website for the first time I was amazed how the design is so bold, clear, readable and full of vivid colors that catch eye.

And I think that’s exactly what indie makers need when they launch: attention.

Building in Public

I launched BRUTO on Gumroad and I’ll be sharing the journey transparently:

  • Revenue updates (starting at $0 today 😅)

  • Lessons learned from feedback

  • My experiments with pricing tiers and marketing
