why i built redchecker.io
I’m 19, and like many of you, I’ve spent hours writing Reddit posts—only to see them disappear instantly because they violated some hidden rule or automod filter. It’s frustrating, discouraging, and honestly a huge waste of time.
So I built RedChecker.io.
Right now, it does one simple thing:
You write your post and click the analyse button → it analyses the rules → and gives you a green signal (good to go) or a red signal (violates rules). If it’s red, it tells you exactly what to change so your post actually has a chance.
No more “post, pray, and refresh just to get auto-removed.”
Why this matters
Saves you from rewriting after rejection.
Helps new users feel confident instead of discouraged.
Makes Reddit less of a guessing game.
What’s next (future updates)
I don’t want RedChecker to just stop at rule-checking. I’m already working on:
Suggesting related subreddits if your post doesn’t fit.
Showing trending topics inside your target subreddit.
Highlighting popular keywords the community uses.
Onboarding new Redditors by suggesting starter subs.
The vision is simple: make Reddit less intimidating and more rewarding—especially for makers, writers, and anyone trying to get seen.

This is a really cool idea because I try not to post anything on Reddit for this very reason. You can also expand this to other platforms (and also add an expected reaction, for example - indiehackers: your post will probably get this many likes and comments, etc.)

I mean, there's a general feed that people see, but will all posts be included? Or will some posts not be included in the main feed's "recommendations"?

Like you, we see the positive side and potential of AI — in our case, we developed one that analyzes climate and environmental claims. There’s so much greenwashing out there, and as an environmental company we felt it had to stop.

Congrats on shipping RedChecker! I feel this pain, and your green or red with clear fixes is exactly what new posters need. Got a friendly suggestion for you that might help: Show the exact automod line I am likely to hit. If it is red, suggest three better fit subs and offer one click tweaks.

This is a clever idea I’ve definitely had posts disappear without knowing why and it kills motivation the green light red light system makes it super approachable the subreddit suggestion feature you’re planning sounds especially useful since half the battle is just finding the right place to post are you thinking of keeping it free or moving to a freemium model once those extra features land
