Why I built RouteScope (and why you might want to use it)

I used to spend more time switching between API providers than actually building features.

We were building an AI app with GPT-4. Then we wanted to try Claude for coding tasks. Then Gemini for something else. Three models. Three SDKs. Three billing systems. And every time we wanted to switch or test a new model, it meant rewriting integration code.

It felt wrong.

So we built RouteScope — a lightweight API gateway that gives you one unified interface for 70+ LLMs: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Qwen, and more.

One API key. One SDK. One bill.

Switching models? Just change one parameter. No code rewrite.

We've been using it internally for months, and it's already saved us weeks of integration work. We recently open-sourced it and made it available to everyone.

If you're building with LLMs and tired of managing multiple API keys and SDKs, check it out: https://routescope.ai

I think the biggest value isn't avoiding SDK rewrites—it's preserving optionality. The AI ecosystem changes so quickly that every hard dependency on a single provider becomes a strategic risk. Making model switching almost frictionless lets teams optimize for capability and cost over time instead of being locked into earlier technical decisions.
