Why I built ZeroTaken

The product wasn't the hard part.

The name was.

I spent hours trying different domain generators, writing lists of ideas, and checking registrars one by one.

Every time I found a name I liked...

Taken.

Then another.

Taken.

And another.

Most domain generators gave me hundreds of ideas, but 90% of them weren't even available. I realized I was spending more time searching for a domain than validating my actual startup idea.

So I built a tool for myself.

Instead of generating random names and hoping one is free, it checks availability while generating ideas. That means every suggestion you see is a domain you can actually register.

That project became ZeroTaken.

I'm still improving it every week based on feedback from founders.

I'm curious:

What's the longest you've spent trying to find a startup name?

Or what naming mistake would you never make again?

I'd love to hear your stories.
