Hello Indiehackers,
I started a proptech startup to try tackle housing for single/divorced parents and students. It’s been an excruciatingly stressful experience so far which I love and embrace for the lessons and experiences it will teach me.
This startup has varying use cases and I’m going to break it down in the simplest form:
A single mom shares a house with another single mom and each pays below market price rent. Whatever they have left and would have paid in a market price home, they save and use as down payment for a house of their own. Now, why can’t they just find a random single mom and do this off the app? Well no one would love to live with a stranger full time not to mention sharing families in a house. So the app is like a social circle to get to experience shared values, co-exist, and if they love the other party, get a house with them.
Students can share their private apartments with other students. A reason that made me add this feature is an experience of a friend with school accommodation. Typically you need to have to be in a circle to get an opportunity to share a space with someone. Here on the app, any student seeking to do this can just list and have people bid. Price also is below market value and affordable for the third party.
At this stage, I’m currently building this alone and think will be this way for the foreseeable. But, I would love to have someone to build this with. The ideal person will be really good at marketing and be technical even just a fair bit is fine. Also they would need to be in the USA.
The website address is https://coh.herokuapp.com
As you probably guessed, yeah I haven’t got any company registration or whatnot yet. Just building in public, seeking users, hopefully getting them and we will get to the businessey things later.
Please share your opinions.
