Why I’m Building a "Digital Arms Dealership" for Quantitative Traders

For a long time, the world of quantitative trading has been divided into two camps: those who sell "black-box" signals and those who spend months coding their own infrastructure from scratch. I decided to build a third option with AlphaForge.

The "Digital Arms Dealer" Philosophy

I don’t provide investment advice, and I don't sell "magic" strategies that promise guaranteed returns. Instead, I’ve chosen to be a Digital Arms Dealer. My mission is to provide the high-performance infrastructure—the "weapons"—that allow traders to execute their own ideas with precision and speed.

By providing tools that users run locally on their own machines, I focus on what I do best: building robust, high-performance backends and flexible user interfaces.

Risk Management & Privacy

This "local-first" approach is a deliberate choice for two reasons:

• Legal Clarity: By providing software infrastructure rather than direct financial advice, the platform operates as a technology provider, mitigating the complex legal risks associated with investment consulting.

• Strategy Privacy: Your "alpha" is yours alone. Because the strategies run on your own hardware, your proprietary logic and API keys never need to touch my servers.

The "Fractional Monetization" Experiment

I’m also rethinking how software should be priced in this space. I’m introducing a 24-hour strategy rental model:

• Low Entry Barrier: For NT$ 300, users can unlock a professional strategy slot for 24 hours.

• Flexibility: This allows traders to test the waters or run high-conviction ideas without committing to expensive monthly subscriptions.

• User-Defined Logic: I don’t believe in hard-coding indicators. Whether it's RSI, MACD, or Moving Averages, every parameter is fully adjustable by the user to fit their unique edge.
