Hi Indie Hackers,
I’m building HRAIdir, a directory for discovering AI tools built for HR teams, recruiters, founders, and people leaders.
Website: https://hraidir.com
The idea came from a simple problem: HR work is becoming more complex, but the tools people use are often scattered, repetitive, and hard to evaluate.
Recruiting, resume screening, interview scheduling, employee onboarding, performance reviews, learning and development, internal communication, workforce planning, and employee engagement all involve large amounts of information and coordination.
AI can help with many of these workflows, but most AI tools are still too general-purpose. HR professionals do not just need “AI.” They need AI that understands hiring, people operations, compliance, culture, and the human side of work.
That’s why I started HRAIdir.
The goal is to make it easier for HR professionals to discover practical AI tools that can save time, improve decision-making, reduce repetitive work, and create better employee experiences.
HRAIdir exists because I believe the next wave of AI adoption will be industry-specific. People don’t want to browse endless generic AI tools. They want tools organized around their actual workflows and problems.
For HR, that means tools that can help with:
Finding and screening candidates
Writing job descriptions
Scheduling interviews
Improving onboarding
Supporting employee engagement
Managing performance reviews
Analyzing workforce data
Creating training and learning content
Answering internal HR questions
Reducing administrative workload
I’m still early in the journey, but my long-term vision is to make HRAIdir a focused AI resource hub for the HR industry.
Not just another directory, but a place where HR teams can quickly find relevant tools, understand how they are used, and discover new ways to apply AI responsibly in people operations.
HR is a uniquely human field. AI should not replace empathy, judgment, or trust. But it can remove busywork, improve access to information, and give people teams more time for the work that actually requires human care.
That is the future I’m building toward with HRAIdir.
I’d love to hear from other founders, HR professionals, recruiters, and people building vertical AI products.
What do you think is the biggest opportunity for AI in HR?
