Why I’m Building ImagesCompression.com for Simple Image Compression

I’m building ImagesCompression.com because image compression is still a daily problem for normal internet users.

Most people do not need a complex design tool. They just need to quickly reduce an image for an online form, job application, website, email, WhatsApp, profile photo, document upload or social media post.

That is why I started working on ImagesCompression.com.

The goal is simple: build a fast, free and tool-first image platform where users can upload an image immediately, compress it in the browser, and download a smaller file without confusion.

I am focusing heavily on real upload problems, especially fixed file-size limits like:

  • compress image under 50KB

  • compress image to 100KB

  • compress image to 200KB

  • compress image to 500KB

  • compress image for online forms

  • compress JPG and PNG files

  • resize and convert images

I also published a small open-source GitHub repo with browser image compression examples using JavaScript and canvas:

Live site:

I would love feedback from other builders:

What image tools do you think users need most?
And from a UX point of view, what would make an image compression tool feel faster and simpler?
