Why I never get feedback on my product?

A lot of posts are posted on IH saying they will review the product or do Free SEO /usability audit. I comment on these posts to get help but the author doesn't reply back. Is it because

a. My product (https://apio.in) is in early-stage so nobody wants to review it?
b. These posters are trying to gain initial customers for themselves(or their brand) by marketing free goodies? This is a bit undesirable, can lead to the degradation of IH.
c. They are helping for free so I can't/shouldn't complain?
d. Something else?

Examples where I haven't received a reply:

@ajnikhil you shouldn't worry man. It happens, these posts usually get a lot of answers and sometimes it takes weeks until the author gives you a proper answer. I am talking from personal experience. I had one post too, and got 64 questions. Still answering them.

The reason why I postpone is:

    1. I want to give credible answer, not a generic one
    2. I have life/work stuff too as everyone

You shouldn't worry that is because of your startup being an early-stage. I think most of the products here are early-stage. Try to build connections with the community and people will respond.

Take care, and hope this helps!

Hey, I took a look at your website. Take it for what its worth as I am not your target audience (not a developer), but here are my thoughts:

    1. I visited the dashboard and the initial dashboard screen is empty. Ideally you'll want some dummy or real data in here to show off your product.

    2. There's no urgency, and no reason to act. When you get into the demo, all you see is "sign up". I don't feel any push to sign up right away. Can you make it more urgent by offering a time-limited deal?

    3. The screenshot preview is cropped weirdly and looks distorted. This makes it look like a very amateur product and would make me hesitate paying $99/mo.

    4. Speaking of pricing, I don't understand how you go from FREE to $99/mo. Who is this product targeting? IndieHackers? What incentives do they have to go to the $99/mo tier? I don't see any.

    5. The page looks like it was designed by an indie hacker for an indie hacker, but not very professionally and perhaps on a very low budget. I would not trust this website with a credit card details. Maybe that's just the designer in me, but if I see text shadow, I'm gone ;)

    6. The entire page is features features features. I don't see anything about what makes this product any different from other professional app monitoring tools. Who are you're competitors? Why would someone choose your product over theirs? When there are many other tools available that developers know for a fact will deliver the promised value, why should they try yours?

    Here are my recommendations:

    1. Invest in a more professional landing page.
    2. Populate the demo
    3. State who this product is for. Which kinds of apps does it monitor? What kind of developer should try this (indie hacker, established SaaS etc.) make it clear.
    4. Stress the benefits along with the features. For example: "Get notified about errors in your apps and fix them before your users get frustrated and abandoned your product". Show a screenshot of this feature.
    5. Think about your pricing. Right now I don't see why anyone would switch from free to paid depending on who they are. It doesnt seem to me that your pricing is set up to scale to a metric that makes sense as an app grows.
    6. Think about ways to add urgency to your page. Timers, discounts, recommended tiers (add another tier). Right now you have 2 tiers and the super expensive one does not look appealing. Maybe create a middle tier and even consider getting rid of the free one.

If you found this useful, I created an entire product that helps founders convert their visitors to customers. https://www.swipe.page/?dc=ih 190 items here.

Hey @ajnikhil I still plan on answering ALL the responses. I just received so many and didn't have time to answer them now. It's part of my agenda for this week. Sit back and relax :)))

    Hi,

The answer is D. Getting a review of your landing page is easy but getting a review of your product is hard. Yes eventually you will get people to signup for your product but that's a long way from the real usage you are after. Just from a signup they can only review your onboarding.

Uclusion has been participating in usage exchanges - I use your product and you use mine in order to get a deeper level of feedback. You're welcome to join us in a usage exchange or I can give you advice on how to set these things up. I don't believe you will get what you are after from anything simpler.

I also agree with this answer and it somewhat plays into my answer below which is you just need to get more specific on who you target to try it out.

I kind of disagree with your answer a little. Yes IHers come in many flavors but overall the culture of being really useful to each other hasn't really caught on yet. Even if you find your exact target audience they are just not as receptive as they should be.

I think lean startup caused a lot of the distrust by encouraging everyone to run around with so called "MVP"s seeking validation on products that are nowhere near finished enough to be useful.

Hi, I share your point and believe the best thing you could do is find those 5 to 10 users that happily test your product on regularly basis. I am doing that with a couple IH and works like a dream!
I would gladly check your product too if that helps!

Poster gets overwhelmed. I offered video reviews and got over 100 submissions. I managed to get most of them but it took a while -- 3 days or so. Some people won't spend that long and will only help some that they can. This is the nature of offering free services -- you get overwhelmed.

The answer is D...and here's why.

IH is somewhat a reflection of the real world in that there are a TON of subgroups on here, all under the 'work for yourself in tech' umbrella.

If you post on a general page, there's a good chance you've hit up an author in a different subgroup than the one you're looking to try your product.

How do you fix that - find your crowd that would most likely use your app and post, comment and respond to their posts. You'll start building a mini-network if you do it consistently.

Also, when you post, just start with basic questions related to your app: What API Monitoring Tool Do You Use?

    I had a quick look.

    1. The post wasn't specifically about getting feedback, it was more about sharing it, upvoting, checking it out if it is of interest to others.
    2. I'm guessing @Eli2 got overwhelmed with the responses, there were many that went unanswered there.
    3. Again, looks like it wasn't you specifically, maybe @marinatrajk got overwhelmed with the responses too. 🤷🏽‍♀️

      Thanks @rosiesherry
@ajnikhil I have gone through your site and for now, it's ranking only 3 pages
1)Publish more API related content and make sure you share on social media i.e Facebook & Twitter-I recommend you do 5 posts
      2) Launch this product on product hunt & Reddit-This give you strong backlinks in case it goes viral hence improving DA
      3) Reach out to me after 2 weeks of doing the above two items

Thanks for replying Rosie. I am not saying I am being singled out, there are other comments that are unanswered. Is the reason that posters were overwhelmed by the volume justified? This is an expected outcome. I did upvote all the posts but didn't receive a reply and many others like me would have. Somehow I feel it's a growth hack being applied 🤦‍♂️
I will take my upvote back :)
