I wanted to briefly explain why I shared ClearTok again.
The original project was hosted under a domain that included the word “TikTok”.
Over time, it became clear that using platform trademarks in domain names can
cause issues, and eventually the original domain was taken down after a complaint.
There was no drama or conflict — it was simply a reminder that even small
side projects need to be careful about naming and compliance.
Rather than stopping the project, I decided to migrate everything to a
neutral brand domain (cleartok.io), clean things up properly, and continue
working on the tool.
Reposting ClearTok here is mainly to reflect that clarification and migration.
The product itself hasn’t fundamentally changed, but the branding and setup
are now much more sustainable long-term.
If anything, this was a good lesson in building indie projects:
naming, domains, and trademarks matter earlier than you might expect.
