Why I Started Building Pabble – The SaaS Solution I Needed as a Founder

Hey, Indie Hackers! 👋

I’m Azfar, an indie founder just like many of you. I’m building Pabble.io, and I want to share a bit about why I started this journey and why I think it’s something every SaaS founder could use.

If you’ve ever launched a SaaS product, you probably know that “build it and they will come” is more of a myth than a strategy. In reality, even the best products need a push to keep users engaged and turning trials into paying customers. But here’s the catch: doing that manually is exhausting. And when you’re a solo founder or part of a tiny team, it can be overwhelming to personally connect with every user. So, that’s where Pabble.io comes in.

The Pain I Felt – And the Solution I Wanted

A while back, I launched another product, and like most founders, I focused on perfecting the code, tweaking the design, and making the features rock-solid. But even with all that, I noticed that users would sign up, use it for a bit, and then…disappear. I tried reaching out, writing emails, checking in with users personally, and getting feedback, but honestly, it was hard to keep up. I knew I needed to automate this process somehow, but I didn’t want to lose that personal touch that really connects with users.

It hit me then: what if I could create a tool that lets founders like us communicate in a way that feels personal, even when it’s automated? That’s when Pabble.io was born! Pabble’s whole approach is about letting founders send emails that feel personal, at exactly the right times—like nudging trial users, sending onboarding guides, sharing feature updates, congratulating them on milestones, and even reaching out when they visit a pricing page or try a new feature. The idea is to help SaaS founders maintain that “personal touch” at scale, where users feel like they’re getting genuine messages, not just generic marketing.

What Pabble.io Aims to Do

Pabble.io isn’t just another email marketing tool. Instead, it’s built specifically for SaaS founders who want to nurture their users and make them feel valued every step of the way. Imagine being able to trigger personalized, behavior-based emails automatically—like reaching out when users complete a milestone, guiding them from trial to paid, or sending friendly reminders if they’re slipping away. It’s communication that feels like it’s coming from you, not a bot.

Building Pabble.io for Indie Hackers and Small Teams

I get it—big teams have resources to hire sales and customer success reps to handle this stuff. But for indie founders and bootstrapped startups, we need tools that work with us, not instead of us. Pabble.io is designed to do just that: simplify communication without losing the authenticity of a founder-led message. With Pabble.io, you can keep users engaged, feel in touch with them, and drive growth without adding extra to your plate.

The Journey So Far and What’s Next

I’ve poured my own challenges and lessons learned into Pabble.io. There’s still so much I want to do to make it even better, but hearing feedback from other founders—those of you who’ve struggled with similar engagement and retention challenges—is what keeps me going.

If this resonates with you, I’d love for you to give Pabble.io a try or even just connect with me to chat about your own experiences. I believe in building products that solve real problems for real people, and I’d be thrilled to see Pabble.io become a tool that helps founders like us grow with less stress.
