Why I upvote everything on Product Hunt without hesitation

Hi Indie Hackers,

I'm the founder of hacksocial.ai, a chrome extension that uses AI to generate replies on social media. I've been building in public for a few weeks now, and I want to share with you one of the habits that has helped me grow my audience and network: upvoting everything on Product Hunt.

You might think that upvoting everything is a waste of time or a meaningless gesture. But I disagree. Here are some of the reasons why I do it:

-It costs me nothing. Upvoting is free and easy. It takes less than a second to click the button and show some appreciation for someone else's work.

-It supports other makers. Product Hunt is a community of creators who are passionate about building cool things. By upvoting their products, I'm giving them a boost of confidence and motivation. I'm also helping them get more exposure and feedback from other users.

-It feels better to give. When I started my build in public journey, I expected that giving more than I receive on social media would feel hollow. I was just doing it in the hopes that eventually my good karma would return to me, that people would give me attention on these platforms. But by doing it and engaging more, I changed my mind. Giving feels good in itself. It makes me happy to see others succeed and celebrate their achievements.

Of course, upvoting alone is not enough. I also try to leave thoughtful comments and questions whenever possible.

hacksocial doesn't work yet on ProductHunt, so you know my replies are genuine! Although, I'd be interested in a debate with someone about whether or not using hacksocial would make the replies less genuine. First of all, hacksocial only gives you a suggestion. Even on the sites it works on, like LinkedIn and Twitter, I often edit the suggestions heavily.
I need to agree with the reply in order to copy and paste it and post it.
