Why I'm building a "No AI, No Cloud" tool for writers in 2026
Hi everyone, I'm Lina.
For the past few months, I've been building Gridance Studio, a visual plotting tool for screenwriters and novelists.
While everyone is rushing to integrate AI, I decided to go the opposite way: No AI, No Cloud, Local-first.
Why?
Because I believe a writer's most valuable asset is their "IP"
Many writers I've talked to are hesitant to put their core ideas on a cloud where data privacy fells uncertain, or they feel AI is cluttering their creative process rather than helping it.
I wanted to build a "Digital Sanctuary"-a space where your story stays on your machine, organized visually through scene cards and character graphs.
We are launching on Product Hunt on April 21st, and I'm currently polishing the final version.

The "Digital Sanctuary" concept is a powerful counter-trend, Lina. As AI and cloud saturation peak, offering writers a space where their IP is physically locked to their own machine is a high-conviction play that many professional storytellers will find deeply refreshing.
