Why is my new landing confusing? Bashboard

  1. Go to https://bashboard.io/
  2. Look around
  3. Tell me what the page is about.
  4. Describe what questions / confusion come up in your head.
  5. Ask me a favor in return :)

My first ever PH launch is in a few days and would love to know what needs improving on the website.

It appears you offer generic dashboards for a multitude of data sources. As far as design, it is clean and really nice. Good job.

    My thoughts:
Tell me in the first sentence why I need this. I like the Who is This For but it is far down the page and it took me a minute to determine who it is for.

For example, "Instant Dashboards For Any Data Source". Build Yours In 30 Seconds.

Nice, that's a good one. I got mine from a Cyfe review, thought it would be effective. But you're right, need to get to the point, not beat around the bush. How is it now?

      1. 1

Much better. In 2 seconds I know what it is and if I want it.

Nice, thanks for the help. I agree, it is better :)

    1. Done
    2. Pretty clean colors/website
    3. A way to create a dashboard without putting in the data yourself
    4. Where do you get the information?
    5. Nothing lol

Hmm, interesting. Could you elaborate what you mean by "without putting in the data yourself"?

      1. 1

i just recall from quickly glancing over the page that there was a to 'get data from any source'. Now I looked over again and nvm. lol.

        1. 1

oh I see, that makes sense.

    1. It's about bringing together data from all kinds of different sources. The data then can be represented in a dashboard.
    2. What options are there to design and customize the dashboard? Are zapier / webhooks / Post requests the only connectors? Hence, does Zapier do all the work?
    3. Your welcome. Looking forward to the response from PH.

      1. yay! :)
4.a Customization questions are good ones. Barely have any so I thought I'd not mention it at this point. But now that you mention it, maybe what I have currently (which is basic but covers a lot of usecases) and what are the plans - should be mentioned somewhere.
4.b Interesting question. I'm having a hard time understanding it actually. In essance actually POST request do all the work and (when it becomes available) Zapier will be a layer on top, not the other way around. Now, what could I do to make this more clear on the website? Assuming my answer clarified anything :D

edit: thanks for having a look :)

Hi, with the question about zapier POST and webhooks I just wanted to understand where the effort lies.
If I imaging having multiple databases and systems that contain data, I want to bring together, I am expecting two ways to do it.

        1. Either it should be fairly easy, hence a prebuild connector is ready to use.
        2. I build my one connections with the help of things like zapier, webhooks or POST.

These two scenarios are two different customer approaches. As the 1. does not assume a lot of it knowledge. But its simplicity might bring limitations. And as I understood your product correct, you are not aiming for these people.
You are aiming at customers who need more flexibility and use products or databases, where no connector exists.

        These were my thoughts.

So I made a separate /usecases and /examples pages. Does this clarify your question? https://bashboard.io/examples
