Why Make Progressive Web Apps?
Progressive Web Apps are gaining popularity and big names such as Starbucks, Forbes, and Tinder are reaping the benefits of PWAs.
According to statistics, the world’s largest coffeehouse chain, Starbucks, got 2-time more traffic with its progressive web app (PWA). Online dating platform Tinder also cut its loading time by more than half and saw an increase in user engagement with its PWA.
So are progressive web apps the future? Are they better than native apps? In this article, we are going to discuss why progressive web apps for mobile devices are getting so much traction. So let’s see if those claims hold any water.

As an indie hacker the value of a PWA for me is that I can write once and get 3 platforms: Web, Android, iOS. This is a huge development save. For the stuff I do, the not-as-great iOS support isn't a huge problem but there are definitely limits of a PWA. but the investment is so small that it's a great problem to have if your PWA is not meeting your customer needs and you can afford to rebuild native.
