Why MongoDB is (Probably) the Wrong Choice for Your Next App

After running an app in production backed by MongoDB for a few years, I'm pretty convinced MongoDB is the wrong choice for a general purpose database that serves as the persistence layer for stuff you run business logic on.

I tend to work in JavaScript / Node which has really embraced Mongo over the past few years.

For my next project, I think I'm going back to SQL and probably will stay that way for awhile.

Curious tho, anyone disagree? Why do you think Mongo is a good general-purpose application database?
