Why most freelancer tools fail at simplicity

I recently spoke with a few freelancers and noticed a common pattern — they use multiple tools just to manage tasks, clients, and invoices.

Most tools are either:

  • Too simple (only tasks), or

  • Too complex (built for teams, not solo freelancers)

This made me start building Truedoit — a lightweight tool focused on just what freelancers need, without clutter.

I’m curious:
👉 What part of freelancing feels the most painful to manage right now — tasks, clients, or invoices?

Would love honest feedback. 🙌

Thanks everyone for the responses so far 🙏
It’s interesting to see how many freelancers struggle with tool overload and context switching.

I’m taking all this feedback seriously and shaping Truedoit around real workflows, not feature checklists.
If anyone is open to sharing how they currently manage their day-to-day work, I’d love to learn more.
