Why most solo founders feel broke even when profitable (and what I’m building to fix it)

Why
Most solo founders aren’t struggling with sales or ideas.
They’re struggling with the invisible ops stuff that quietly kills momentum especially cash timing anxiety.
Revenue looks good on paper, but the bank balance tells a different story at 2am.

How
I believe founders should spend their energy on growth and vision, not becoming accidental accountants.
So I’m building a simple AI system that protects the things that actually matter.

What
Aureus the AI Guardian for solo founders.
Right now focused on real cash runway visibility: honest daily forecasts, “What If” scenarios, and proactive suggestions so you’re not surprised by late payments or unexpected expenses.
It’s still very early. I’m using it myself every day.

Question for other solo founders:
What’s your biggest cash flow or runway frustration right now? (late client payments, hiring timing, “profitable but feel broke”, etc.)
Would love honest answers no pitch, just trying to understand the real pain better.

"Profitable but feel broke" is the one that hits me — revenue on paper, empty bank at 2am because everything landed in the wrong week.

Late client payments hurt less than unpredictable timing: one good month makes you think you can hire or spend, then quiet month and you're back to checking the balance daily.

Curious if Aureus is mostly about forecasting that timing gap, or also nudging on "this invoice is 12 days late — chase now"?

The late payment piece is the one that hits hardest for solo founders. Revenue shows on paper but the bank account timing is completely different. I have seen a lot of founders solve the forecasting side but still get wrecked by a single client paying 45 days instead of 30. Are you planning to connect to invoicing tools or bank feeds for the cash visibility, or is it manual input at this stage?
