edit: F*ck, I've just learnt that there is no "Leadership" or "Team Management" channel on IndieHackers...
I'm Lena, a seasoned marketing manager with a tale or two up my sleeve. I've led teams of up to 20 people in marketing agencies throughout my career. Recently, I joined the in-house marketing department of a time management SaaS company, only to find myself rather flabbergasted by the state of people management in today's workplace.
I've learnt people management when it was about nurturing the human spirit, but now it seems to have devolved into a game of invigilation and cost-cutting, with AI elbowing its way into the mix. This disheartening trend has left me yearning for the good old days when empathy was at the heart of team management.
SO! I've decided to take up my quill and share my hard-earned wisdom on team management through my company's Medium account, hoping to rekindle the flame of empathy and understanding in the workplace.
I present to you a trifecta of articles that aim to help you implement time tracking without causing your teammates to mutiny:
🟣 Time Tracking Reinvented: How Savvy Managers Turn Employee Skepticism into Success (https://medium.com/p/29bdfcc69748)
🟣 Don’t Sabotage Your Team Management: 3 Common Mistakes to Avoid (https://medium.com/p/7aa8e39c0784)
🟣 What REALLY Happens When You Implement Time Tracking in Your Company (https://medium.com/p/8e75694c71b5)
However, I cannot singlehandedly turn the tide. I humbly request your aid, fellow kindred spirits, to keep my motivation burning bright amidst the swirling mists of modern trends. Lend me your thoughts on these articles and let us together forge a path to a more empathetic future.
Join me in my quest by following my musings on Medium or here on IndieHackers. Let us pool our collective wisdom and reshape the narrative around people management, one enlightened step at a time.
Hi Lena,
thanks for sharing the articles.
Although I understand you and can relate to some of your feelings, I am not sure that IndieHackers is the best place to turn the tide.
I'd suggest looking for other channels where your target audience hangs out.
LinkedIn maybe?
Yours,
KodingKitty.
It's kind of in the name.. Indie Hackers
@EdmondAmaning, Indie stands for independent, not individual and even if it was - you still have to have work with people: your subcontractors, investors, marketing agency, empathy is one of important feature of any business owner. People think that if they have small team, they don’t have team at all, just few individuals.
Thanks for the idea though. I think I have a new topic for a future article ;)
