Why Overthink?

Overthink was born out of my personal struggle to keep up with the rapidly evolving Dota 2 scene. As a player, I found it challenging to stay updated with team news, match schedules, tournament dates, and, most importantly, the constant changes in patch updates. Every new patch seemed to bring a wave of changes, and staying on top of these updates was overwhelming, especially when it came to adjusting strategies or knowing which heroes were stronger or weaker in the meta.

I wanted to create a platform that would make this easier for me—and for other players who shared the same frustration. It was important to have all the key information in one place: news, patch updates, tournament schedules, and other details to keep up with the game. But there was also a need to address the more personal aspect of the game—draft anxiety. Selecting the right heroes during a draft, understanding synergies and counterpicks, was always something I struggled with. This personal experience led me to develop Overthink as a tool that not only aggregates the latest news but also assists players during one of the most critical moments in Dota 2—picking heroes.

Overthink isn’t just an app; it’s an extension of my own journey as a player trying to stay ahead in a constantly shifting landscape. The app exists to help players like me who want to be informed, confident, and strategic in their gameplay. It’s a response to the challenge of staying current, making smarter decisions, and overcoming the stress of the draft phase, all while fostering a deeper connection with the evolving Dota 2 universe.
