Why spend time on a landing page?

I'm launching a new venture, in the nutrition field, goal is to help you follow a specific diet (fodmap) that is key to specific diseases (IBS, Crohn,...).
I have a freemium model, with a 5€/month or 49€/year Premium subscription.
I have no clue on my lifetime value yet but people may stay customer for life as it's not curable and food is so complex (you have to ask yourself if every single thing you eat is compatible with your diet).
14 customers so far, it's taking off.

I think my service is like a Netflix for Fodmap, or a Spotify or a NYT subscription: it's not something you jump right in, you spend weeks, maybe months to think about it before you commit.

With that in mind, is the landing page that important? I spend more time establishing trust around the service, so far my "subscribe page" looks shitty with just "Choose your plan" and two buttons with monthly or yearly plans.

Any feedback welcome!

It's good that you're aware of what you don't know:

    • "I have no clue on my lifetime value yet…
    • "…may stay a customer for life…"
    • "…I think my service is like a Netflix…"
    • "… weeks, maybe months…

If you're going to spend time doing anything right now, imo it should be talking to users (ideally face-to-face) to validate the assumptions you have. And of course those assumptions go beyond how long people will use this for, but whether they'll sign up to pay for it at all.

Your landing page (and your product) should be a result of what you learn during those conversations.

      Thanks for your reply!
Yep, I did just that these last months, extensively. First version was launched one year ago and I didn't stop iterating and getting feedbacks, interviewing people over the phone and chat.
But neither them or I can estimate a LTV, I'll just have to run with it and see how it goes I guess.
I've validated the need and their ability to pay, so now I'm launching the Premium version, but lots of questions remain.
      Wait and see!
