When you build a digital product, you expect the hard part to be the product itself. In reality, many of us learned the opposite lesson the painful way: building was manageable, getting to a real B2B conversation was not.
We went through the same cycle as many founders. We tried paid ads, SEO, content, email outreach, and social posting. Each channel worked a little, sometimes for a while — but none of them reliably solved the core problem: getting the right person on a call at the right time. Costs kept going up, response rates kept going down, and most of our effort was spent before a single conversation even happened.
At some point, it became obvious that the bottleneck wasn’t awareness. It was access.
We noticed a strange contradiction. Whenever we did get someone on a call, things moved fast. Even a short conversation created clarity, trust, and direction. Deals progressed. Feedback was honest. Decisions happened. Yet everything in modern B2B seemed optimized to delay or avoid that moment.
Meeting requests were ignored. Calendly links felt intrusive. Cold emails blended into noise. We weren’t failing at selling — we were failing at starting conversations.
That’s when we started asking a different question:
What if the meeting wasn’t the end goal of outreach, but the starting point?
We experimented with shorter calls. Ten minutes. No decks. No pressure. Just a clear reason to talk.
The results were surprisingly strong. Acceptance rates improved. Conversations felt more focused. Even when there was no immediate sales opportunity, we walked away with insight, referrals, or validation. The time investment was small, but the signal was high.
That experiment became the foundation for Meetcatcher.
From day one, we wanted to avoid building “another sales tool.” Meetcatcher isn’t about blasting messages or collecting emails. It’s built around one simple idea: people behave differently when they explicitly agree to talk.
We designed it so that:
Both sides know who they’re meeting and why
Meetings are short and time-boxed
Participation is rewarded, not exploited
The credit system came from the same thinking. We didn’t want a platform where one side takes and the other side wastes time. By allowing users to earn credits simply by participating in meetings, the platform can be used fully even without paying — and everyone has an incentive to show up engaged.
Using Meetcatcher feels less like cold outreach and more like an always-on online conference. You browse professionals, pick who you want to talk to, and jump into short conversations. Sometimes you sell. Sometimes you learn. Sometimes you get pointed to the right person.
And that’s fine — because that’s how real B2B relationships actually form.
Meetcatcher wasn’t built to replace marketing. It was built to remove friction between people who should talk to each other.
For indie hackers, founders, and service builders who are tired of shouting into the void, we believe the future looks quieter, more direct, and more human. Fewer impressions. Fewer funnels. More conversations.
That’s the system we wanted — so we built it.
