The idea of Weavit came in octobre 2018 in Singapore while I was taking a note at a neuroscience conference. While typing, I realised that 6 months later this note would be buried under a pile of other notes simply because there was no context to it. It was pure text, analogical not digital.
The “neuroscience” topic, the conference event, my other notes on neurosciences, the Professor that was giving the speech on how neurones interconnected to form knowledge: none of these were connected to this note or connected together.
Later if I wanted to find back the note or the name of that professor it would require a serious memory effort.
And I have a terrible memory.
💡 There had to be a better way. My contacts, events, topics of interest, notes or groups: they were all already existing in my digital world, they were simply not linked together. Unlike the neurones tightly meshed on the pictures at the conference.
We created Weavit two years later to exactly do this: allow people on the go to capture thoughts connected with the contextual pieces of their existing universe.
So how does it work ?
🌎 By connecting to your Google or Microsoft suite, Weavit extracts - privately of course - all relevant information from your emails, contacts and calendars to organise neatly the map of your universe. People, events, the groups to which they belong or the topics they might be interested in.
🔗 You can then explore your universe, follow the links we suggest to wander from one part of your map to another, add more links or take notes, group people, places, topics in collections: in short, organise your world by association like you would do in your brain.
📋 From your dashboard you access directly your recent calendar events, contacts, topics, notes or collections to quickly take a note or create more links.
The result of this « mind map » organisation is an ever progressing garden of your knowledge, your thoughts, the bits and pieces you have collected.
Think of Weavit as your knowledge hub: the place where you collect and connect your thoughts.
