Why Webkio Exists

Beyond the technical setup, I am building Webkio to solve a massive financial pain point for small, independent local businesses.

If a local car hire shop, e-bike rental, or campervan service wants to get online, they usually face two terrible choices:

  1. Duct-taping complex plugins: Wrestling with heavy, conflicting WordPress or Wix plugins that can't natively handle dynamic security deposits, hourly duration slots, or seasonal mileage pricing.

  2. The Marketplace Bleed: Relying entirely on major aggregators and broker portals that charge between 15% to 30% commission on every single booking.

Webkio exists to give these independent operators a clean, all-in-one alternative. They can launch a mobile-optimized storefront with a secure booking calendar baked right into the core engine—allowing them to take direct orders and keep 100% of their revenue (minus standard card processing).

To prove the math to skeptical owners, we actually built an un-gated, zero-signup Car Rental Commission Calculator so they can see exactly what they are losing annually to middlemen.

The commission calculator makes the economic case pretty tangible. Have you seen operators actually move bookings from marketplaces to a Webkio storefront, or is the bigger hurdle convincing them they can generate enough direct demand to make the switch worthwhile?
