Why You Shoud Learn Golang In 2021?
If you have stumbled upon this blog, you are either completely new to programming or you are trying to figure out what to learn first or you’re just curious and asking yourself why learn Go?
Whatever the reason, Go is one of the best programming languages to learn in 2021, regardless of your skill level.
A slew of helpful resources are available, Go is easy to learn, and there are plenty of opportunities out there for those who are willing to give it a serious shot. There are also tons of companies using Go for app development and constantly looking for skilled programmers.
So what makes it special? And why should you learn Go? Let’s figure it out.
If I were to dabble outside of the mainstream (Java(script), C#, Python etc.), I'd rather spend my time learning Rust than anything Google backed.
I had exactly the same thought, but not necessarily because it's a Google backed language, but because of all the other big companies (Mozilla, Facebook etc.) who support Rust.
Golang has been here for a while now, but hasn't created so much "boom" in the tech industry.
Not to mention the Linux Kernel Team and Microsoft adopting Rust for Linux/Windows Kernel development.
It's funny to read the misconceptions that Golang is bad because of X. One can probably write numerous why statements why JavaScript is bad, why Python will make you write poor code and etc. It's typical flamewars and which camp you choose. Rust exists for 10 years, what kind of boom are you looking for? That people talk more about than 2 years ago?
If you use Golang, you will learn more around some concepts, if you use Rust, you will learn around other concepts. Pick a language you want to learn and learn, and read less threads like these.
