Why you shouldn’t run ads from Instagram, ever

This guide is for people who are looking to grow their Instagram followers. I’ve made this mistake so you don’t have to!

tl;dr: Running ads from Instagram sucks: you get a lot of likes, but it doesn’t translate into growth in follower numbers. Using Facebook Ads Manager gives you 20–30x better results.

After a few experiments that I used to grow my Instagram followers from 200 to 13,000 in 1 month, I figured out a better way to run ads on Instagram, not from Instagram.

  2. Write a simple CTA as the main headline. Create different ads for different placement types.
  3. Optimize your ad by outlining your main value proposition.
