Widgets in iOS 14?

Hey IH!

What are your thoughts on Widgets in iOS? I created one for work and the response has been amazing! I've been wondering if this is something that others have noticed too. Widgets have been around on Android but on iOS they're so new.

What widgets have you liked so far?

I jumped on the widgets as soon as the update was released.
Widgets have indeed been out on android for ages but it's not big news that when apple decides to do something it finally becomes mainstream no matter how old the invention is.
We saw this happen with wireless charging. It had been out for ages on android phones but when apple decided to implement it in their phones all of a sudden there were wireless chargers at every shop, restaurant, coffee shop, library etc.

But back to the widgets... I personally just use a handful of apps (around 4-6) daily so I have decided to have them on the home screen. I have two pages in total that got widgets on them, all the other apps that I use less frequently are in the app library thingy so I know where they are when I occasionally need to use them.

I use them to fill up empty space and to access certain apps like shortcuts. I use the Apple Music, Battery, Weather, and Screen Time widget.

I am surpised how much interest they are generating. I have been using Apple's default widgets and really like them. Their photos widget really hits home.

I'm seeing some interesting use cases with recent products being released on ProductHunt. Saw some interesting progress-like widgets I liked.
