Will it be useful? "Trending" crypto news aggregator

Hi all, I recently put online https://www.bitcoinmonkey.org/

It's a trending crypto news aggregator.

It collects news from all major crypto news outlets RSS feeds, categorize them, assign a score, and calculate some stats, in order to surface the best trending news of the moment.

I initially created it just for myself, to find interesting stuff to read, and with Bitcoin Monkey I gave it a decent looking web interface.

Do you think it can be useful and/or it has potential?
Any feedback, suggestion, or critique will be greatly appreciated! :)

It's still in its early days, so it's a bit rough on the edges, and I have a big backlog of small features and improvements I want to do.
Also I am still adjusting the algorithm that calculates the score for each news and categorize them, to make it more reliable.

PS: you won't be tracked by Google Analytics :) I self-host a basic privacy-respecting analytics platform to get just a few info about website usage.

After a bit of a hiatus, I am back.

I recently did a major update in both the website UI/UX and in the way scores are calculated, and I have some major updates coming in the next few weeks to make the site a bit more useful and interesting.

    Stay tuned! ;)

I love the Interface, especially because the page isn't filled with ads. How do you plan to monetize?

It does have a lot of potential. I think your challenge will be to drive meaningful traffic without original content.

I am also building it in an easily extendable way, so if it works I can quickly create a similar site for a different topic or in a different language.

      Thanks!

I have some vague ideas about how to monetize it:

      • actually.. ADS! But just one or two spots in the page. I would prefer to sell them directly, not using Google Ads or similar, so I will need to reach a decent amount of traffic first.
      • daily/weekly newsletter with the top news summarized and sell ads spots in it, or use affiliate links
      • premium accounts for a really low fee (like $30/year) for: no ads, ability to choose your fav cryptos and see news about that, maybe a private community

Yeah, the challenge would be to drive traffic, as organic traffic from search engines would probably be basically non-existent. I guess I have to work hard promoting it on social media channels and try to create a community around it.
