I put my newsletter landing page live last week, trying to follow a "Now you can..." format.
Landing page is here: PLONQ
I'd love to know if it makes sense, if you understand what the newsletter will be about, and if the copy and design got your attention.
I made it in carrd because I had the account and find it easy to use, but I know that I'd have to move off of that someday if I wanted to add any more content to the site. Has anyone used carrd for their signup page and then had to switch, or add another site? Be great to understand what went into that.
The wine newsletter landing page looks great! A clean design, compelling copy, and a clear call-to-action can enhance engagement. Looking forward to seeing how it resonates with the audience!
Looks awesome! I’m also considering trying this in my startup
Looks cool. I want to try this app for my contemporaryco program that hosted on WordPress.
Choose supermarket wines like a pro. < Makes me speculate it's going to be an app
Monthly recommendations for people who are done drinking forgettable wine < Makes me realise exactly what you're offering.
To avoid this little bit of cognitive load, I'd rephrase as:
"Get monthly recommendations for people who are done drinking forgettable wine - and choose supermarket wines like a pro."
Apart from that, it's perfect - I signed up!
Got you, I was trying to use the 'now you can...' copy framework for the header. Will test them both and see what happens!
Great that you signed up - thank you! I forget how exciting it is starting a new project and having people start to sign up. A perfect first thing to read on a Monday morning.
Interesting idea! A lot of supermarket "cheap" wines are quite good! It's just soo hard to find one (mostly word-of-mouth).
Besides the things already mentioned -- especially the background :(; it's not doing you any good :/ IMO.
What I would add, a screenshot or some card that shows what the user will get if he signs up - an example of the NL content.
Yes exactly! There's a misconception that cheap wine = bad wine (which under a certain £ is true, you just can't produce anything that cheaply at quality), but there's SO much good stuff in the supermarkets if you know what to look for.
The background is interesting because I picked an old oil-painting and them photoshopped the grapes neon...I'm wondering if that's what people mean by its blurry? Which was a style choice but interesting that a few people have flagged it now. Thank you :)
Looks ok, just the background is really compressed. I don't know does this platform allows you to do that - but ideally, you should have different resolutions/quality modes for different user resolution/platfom.
Thanks! I'm not sure I can do this on carrd, it's a pretty simple builder - which is why I chose it!
I'll have a look in their support notes though and see what I can do :)
Well, if you can't have multiple, then I guess a better tradeoff will be to upload in higher resolution for all. Of course, it would load a little bit longer for everybody but it would look so much better!
I dont think it's working for me....not enough info.
for example, do you recommend wine that I can buy at HEB or Trader Joe's? or how does it work!?
I'm in the UK so I think that's part of the disconnect. Here, 'supermarket wine' is a fairly well known term. But good to know it's not clear how it would work either - I'll have a play with the copy!
It's nice, cute and to the point, maybe could have some image related to wine somewhere as background possibly
Also for me I'd like to know which country/area this is targeting but maybe USA guys would care less defaulting to self, due even there I'd assume some areas would think they won't get the same?
Yes v good point, I'm in the UK so it wouldn't be useful for anyone in the US!
Like the name. :) The copy "Never buy a bad bottle. Choose supermarket wines like a pro." made me think of apps you can get to scan bottles whilst in the supermarket. Lazy, never done it / never would, but if my aim is only to not buy a bad bottle why wouldn't I just use an app? Howabout "Discover what makes a good bottle." But hey the wine market is so large I think you can make this newsletter whatever you would enjoy creating and find an audience. Best of luck!
Really good point thanks Rab - I hadn't thought about those apps as a comparative solution but you're so right.
Thanks for the encouragement too!
@bethkcarter Firstly, keep it up with PLONQ! Wine is a very big niche and I really hope you nail this newsletter!
As far as the review goes, I'm not really a user of carrd, so won't be able to comment on that. However, what I can do is give you some review on the landing page design.
Here's a link of my review -> https://app.ruttl.com/share/cNAs7ofh2cI3hK7mtmuY
Hope you find it useful!
Thank you! That's so kind. Ruttl is very clever - I love that you could leave feedback right on the page.
Haha happy to hear your feedback!
