Hey folks,
The countdown is officially on. Firebase Dynamic Links is shutting down in just a few days. For anyone who relied on it, it's crunch time. 😬
This got me thinking about the state of deep linking for startups and indie devs. The standard user journey is so frustratingly broken:
Click a link ➡️ Go to App Store ➡️ Install app ➡️ Land on a generic home screen. 😫
The user completely loses the context of what they clicked. Getting them from a specific ad directly to the right content after they install is a must-have for good UX, but it's a pain to build.
So, what's everyone migrating to?
I know the big Mobile Measurement Platforms (MMPs) like Branch or Adjust offer this, but let's be real, they can be a crazy expensive proposition 💸, especially if you aren't already a user of their whole analytics suite.
It feels like there's a huge void between the 'free but now dead' Firebase option and the 'enterprise-level' pricing of the big guys. There isn't a clear, affordable, and reliable alternative that just does the job.
Curious to hear what other solutions or custom setups people are using.
FDL shutting down is going to hurt teams that don’t prep in time. A few solid alternatives you can look at:

AppsFlyer OneLink
