One day I posted on reddit, twitter & indie hackers but with some changes and actually ended up getting a nice traffic spike.
Here’s what worked for me (and might work for you too):
Lead with value. Share what you’ve learned, your wins, your journey etc..
Engage with the community. Reply to others, ask questions, join conversations. Be human.
* Outcome > Feature. “Buy this tool” -- doesn't work. “Just got my first user!” -- that actually works.
Use graphics, spend some time making sure you have a good looking visual. (use a light colored visual for a mostly dark platform and a dark visual for a mostly light platform) visuals get recognized faster (and that's the exact reason I am building DropSnap 😉).
I shared on Reddit and IndieHackers — even landed on the front page of IH, which definitely helped.
You don’t need to “market.” Just show up, share your learnings, help others — and people will recognize.
Hope this helps someone putting their work out there.
Thanks for sharing, I will be following the points for my product PitchMirror too
Hmm, this is solid and I guess I’m trying, Appreciate how you broke it down especially the being human part.I help founders make sense of early user behavior though especially when things are still messy and unclear. If you’re in that phase, I can help.
