Work that's fulfilling
Depending on the profession, the moment of feeling proud of what you do occurs differently. A doctor being hugged by the patient's family after long hours of surgery. A filmmaker who sees her name come up on the ending credits. A social worker witnessing that children have unlimited potential to do many great things.
For me, the moment of feeling proud of what I do is found when I see people savor what I've crafted. It's found when people use my product, read my product, and when people share my product with others because they believe my product has a purpose and their friends should use it too. This is what gets me to keep moving forward. Bringing joy and efficacy to people gives me great motivation to build more things.
I've crafted many things - products, articles, strategy decks for a Fortune 500 client, proposals to win business, and even this very newsletter. When people pick up my work and enjoy spending time on it, I feel proud and fulfilled. It's my driver of energy.
I'm curious, what motivates you? When do you find the moment of fulfilling?
I think it's helping others in things that I care about. Creating a product allows me to do it in an efficient way that also makes it fun. Adds business strategy and stuff like that.
