Working with Third Parties Drive Me Nuts

I love software platforms with no humans involved, everything is so much easier. I'm trying to work with an affiliate program where I have to be on phone calls and be approved for things, and it is INFURIATING. I've actually been approved and I'm trying to get this thing done and out the door, but even getting an account created is a multiple day affair. I have an account! I just need to reset the password to get in, and "oh that email might take an hour or so". HOLY CRAP WHAT.

No one on the other side has any sense of urgency, while all I see is my business bleeding money every day.

This has been nice venting. Anyone else have any horror stories?

Ever gone through the approval process for the FedEx API? You have to take a picture of a physical printed pdf shipping label and email it to them along with a form for a manual approval process.

Is there any reason behind that? Are they proving that you can print things?

They want to insure that you have a printer capable of printing something that their scanners can scan correctly? I dunno... it was annoying. That was a while back though.

For credit card affiliate programs, there is only one game in town anymore. Bankrate seems to own all of them. I could probably work out deals with each company individually, but that's not something I have the time, money, or personnel to get behind.
