Workspaces launches on Product Hunt ๐Ÿ˜ธ

https://www.producthunt.com/posts/workspacesxyz

I'm super excited to be launching Workspaces on Product Hunt again. Last time I shared it with the community it won a Golden Kitty! This time, it's been #1 all day. ๐Ÿ‘€

Let me know what you think about the fresh redesign!

    Keep up the good work!

Finished #1 of the day! ๐Ÿ˜ธ

How / where did you hang out to build your initial email list of 8,000 prior to launching on Product Hunt?

    1. 1

      Twitter, Twitter, and more Twitter!

  3. 1

I already subscribed to your newsletter awhile back, I even went all the back to post #1.

#119 Hakim from Slides.com and 123 - Alan Silvestri from Growth Gorilla are my favorites so far. Do you have away besides ads for people to support the newsletter?

    1. 1

Sharing it with people you think might also enjoy it is the best way to support it! :)

    Good luck guys!

Congrats! Where would you say you got your initial subscribers from?
Did you participate in subreddits (e.g. pcmasterrace, battlestations) or was there another source you'd attribute to getting your large subscribe list?

    1. 1

All Twitter! Anytime I featured someone I would tag them and they would RT/share themselves.

They tended to have a larger audience than me so I leaned on that as my primary growth lever.

I'm a fan! Love seeing others desk and seeing what I can learn from them. Any good tips on how to make it to PH #1?

      Thank you!

Tip #1... have an email list of 8,000+ that you can inform about the launch. No way to sugar coat that as an advantage. ๐Ÿ˜…

However, to get that leg up I showed up every weekend for 2.5 years building that engaged audience and community to make that possible.

      Consistency >

Good point about the email list! Actually crossed 5,000 uniques and thinking about first connecting with the audience. The first mail can be information about the PH release, or maybe I need to warm up the audience first? What do you think?

        1. 1

I think you need to provide value before immediately asking for PH support.

I have sent 175 editions of the newsletter leading up to this. Today's email simply outlined the new website design + the PH launch in passing.

Once you provide value and develop an engaged audience they will be more willing to go out of their way to help/do favors.

          1. 1

Yep, 100%. Thanks for the info!

            1. 1

Before officially launching our product on PH, we decided to launch an ebook first as a way to provide value before asking the community for anything.

As we're just at the begining of building a community this was actually a pretty good boost when it comes to the number of people we engaged with.

              1. 2

Oh, I can adapt this to my products! Firstly, launch a big totally free illustration set, and next launch a premium (paid) set or ask for something (for PH launch for example).

                1. 1

It worked really well for us. We connected with more people on PH, had close to 400 downloads and now have 200 followers on our product page.

The best of luck with your launch :)

                  1. 1

                    Awesome! Thanks!
