Trivia: They beat the previous record held by.... you guessed it right another Estonian company!
Does anyone else remember when Estonia's president tweeted, “Estonia has 1.3 million people and we have four unicorns.” LOL. Non-tech people were so confused. Like, what we have unicorns?? 😂
But in all seriousness, Estonia is a super tech-forward country. Apparently, in the'90s the government made a huge effort to reform the country and turn it into a digital society, a movement now known as ‘e-Estonia’. As part of this movement, almost all public services are online. They also offer something called e-residency to anyone who would like to set up a business in the country from a virtual base. I believe it was also the first country to use blockchain technology at a government level.
Estonia seems to be promoting itself as a good destination for nomads/founders to open companies.
There's one more option that's less popular and maybe even better, especially for international founders: LLC within a state like Wyoming. If you're a single founder, you'll be regarded as a "disregarded entity" and won't have to pay corporate/federal taxes on a company level. At the same time you'll be "shielded" against lawsuits etc. and provided the advantages of a company.
