Worried About GDPR, Trademark/Copyright, Privacy Policy, Patents, etc for upcoming viral product
Now, I don't expect the product to go viral per-se, but let's just say for arguments sake it does... does this stuff need to be done beforehand?
I feel so overwhelmed and lost. I could register a trademark, but it's only going to be local to my own country, which is useless since it's an internet product and Canada has a low population.
Are enforcement entities reasonable when it comes to enforcing this stuff? Is there some sort of grace period? Is stuff automatically granted to you just by owning the domain/creating it yourself?
If someone does end up copying you, do enforcement entities even have the power to remove that website?
Honestly I want to keep things simple. I mean, it should all be fine as long as I get ranked No.1 on Google for searching for my product name, right?
And I should be able to add those stuff later? Like someone couldn't ruin my life by registering my own stuff, and preventing me from using it?
Ianal, but unless you have money to defend yourself in court, I wouldn't. I wouldn't want to spend time/money "protecting" it as it might not go anywhere. If it blows up, I'll look into those.
