Would anyone be interested in an on-demand CTO?
Hi everyone,
Would love to know if there would be any appetite for an on-demand CTO for a reasonable monthly retainer?
As well as serving as CTO in an angel-backed startup, I am currently head of engineering at a €40m company and have years production software engineering experience.
I've also been doing this on-demand CTO role for family, friends and 2nd-degree connections for years now (for free I might add).

I've done a bit of what you describe for friends and family but wouldn't necessarily characterize it as a CTO role. More like a technical advisor role.
Oftentimes I'm asked for advice on big-picture things like technical risks but sometimes steer the conversation to acknowledge the bigger threat of market risks. There is the occasional request to advise on technology choices, provide back-of-the-napkin estimates and of course candidate referrals.
Can you share more about this on-demand CTO role? The industry, the expectations etc.
