Would you buy a domain+logo for your Indie Project
I'm building a site where I sell great domains + matching logo & branding.
The idea came out of my own struggle to find a good name + domain for my latest project.
- Would you even consider buying a name for your project?
- Would you prefer less desired TLD (eg. .so/.sh vs .com/.io) in exchange for lower prices?
- Would a logo + domain be enough for you to purchase?
Yes, to save time and jump straight into the project without wasting any other resources.
I really struggled to find a name. And I even used tools like Namelix (that do sort of make the names into logos, too). Didn't see anything that stuck, also because at this point all the normal sounding names seem to be taken! Ended up going with something I wasn't totally happy with, but made sense and sounded like real english. And yes I went with a .io; I was tempted to get a .com but I'm happy I went cheap at the get-go.
Now what WOULD have maybe paid for is if someone were willing to negotiate good domain names for me. I had the option to contact the domain seller but it seemed like a headache so I passed.
I would consider buying a top tier domain if it's a brandable name and the price is right.
Probably a no for me on pre-made logos unless they are very generic.
