Would you find this home projects app useful?
Hello :)
I'm really new to this, so please forgive me if I'm doing it wrong.
By nature I research things and take forever to plan and build ideas, looking at every angle and trying to make everything perfect along the way, which means if I have an idea the chances are it will NEVER get built.
So today I have just gone for it, and built a launch page for an idea I've been sitting on for some time.
It's a planning tool for homeowners who need somewhere to kick off and manage their home projects in one place. It includes planning tools and checklists, budgeting and finding local tradespeople.
For now, I'm calling it Homeplan: https://www.homeplan.me.uk
I'd love to know:
- Is this something you would find useful?
- Is this something you would pay for?
Also any other feedback on the launch page or basically any advice you have for me would be so very appreciated.

I think you are on to something but I am not sure what the solution is? Are you building content or you just providing a solution for me to store my home reno ideas?
I think the user is the DIYer which is a saturated market. Personally I just keep a list in notion or evernote with my "renovation" projects. That said those are just the tools I use for everything else so if it's worth unbundling applications like that for a niche - you might be on to something.
I've often thought about the same thing - notion/evernote and countless others are general but is there room for an organization tool for specific niches.
Yeah totally, I see it as a niche intuitive project management tool with useful tips and content, and links to relevant sites.
I'm wondering if starting small in a particular place makes sense. Like in the UK linking too checkatrade.com so you can choose highly rated tradespeople in your area and then pull them into your specific project.

I'm not totally clear on who it's for, but might be interested depending on the type of home projects. I just moved so we're doing a lot of decorating and DIY stuff, but it's a rental and all DIY so we're not necessarily hiring anyone for anything.
That's a good point. I guess I mostly had new homeowners in mind, as when I moved into my new home a couple of years ago it needed a lot of work and it was quite daunting. First I wanted to get my new floors in place, and I wasn't really sure where to start.
What are you finding to be challenging with the decorating and DIY stuff you're doing right now?

Things like furnishing and organizing, plus upgrading while keeping in accordance with rental guidelines and learning how to do things ourselves.
