Would you let us manage your database backups/restore?

I am building a service to manage the database backups.

Does it add value to small startups if we can manage their database backups?

If yes, how can I find contacts of people from small-scale startups who may be interested to try the service?

    No? Who are you? Why should I trust you with my sensitive data? Doesn’t Digital Ocean already do this for $1/mo? Anyway, those are the thoughts I have.

    Some of the things you need to consider:

    • In small startups, usually there is little to no process
    • Various ideas and PoCs are tried frequently often with diff. stacks (and databases). This may make it quite difficult
    • Many small startups go for BaaS or hosted DBs (like mongo atlas, Firestore etc.) where db backups are quite simple and may not need an additional service

    agree with @fromtheexchange

    @amarjeetanand Maybe the target audience is diff - prob. non technical founders who do not know much about db and backups.

    If I were running a startup, I wouldn't be willing to provide prod db keys to an unknown service

    It makes sense what you said and I also think the same way.

    But I am wondering why people are using the backup services like https://sqlbak.com and https://backup.ninja ? Who are they and what is the specific business area they are working in?
