Would You Pay for "Trends .vc" for Founders and Indie Hackers?

So far, I've written two mega posts here on IndieHackers (one about newsletters and one about course creation).

Would anyone be interested if I did the same thing for more topics?

The Idea
I know that when I started my design agency ~8 years ago, I spent countless hours Googling things and reading books that could have been better spent working on my business. My wish was to have one place to find resources that were written for actionability, rather than for SEO.

My idea would be to curate resources and collect insights to create "Playbooks" that could be used by founders to rapidly get up to speed on critical areas of their business.

Trends.vc is awesome, but focuses on general trends that may or may not be relevant to a founder's needs. I'd like to focus instead on the actual practical skills that all entrepreneurs need to develop. The value proposition would be to save you dozens of hours of research time so you can focus on growing your business.

Example topics could be:

  • Growth Strategies
  • Landing Page Design
  • Productized Services
  • Email Copywriting
  • User Onboarding
  • Journey Mapping
  • etc

Pricing Model
For pricing, I'd follow @dru_riley 's model with Trends.vc, where some portion of each Playbook would be free to read and additional content would require a membership.

Membership would provide:

  • Access to backlog of full Playbooks
  • Ability to vote/decide on which topics get researched next
  • Email support on previously covered topics (e.g. email a question about Landing Page Design, get a response within 24 hours)
  • Access to a members-only community
  • Monthly Q&A video calls
  • Mastermind groups on particular topics

Two questions for you:

  1. How much would you pay per month for this service?
  2. What topics would you like to see covered?

If you are interested - comment below and I'll make sure to add you to the initial (free) list!

Tough to answer. When I need something I typically google it and most probably I will find it. Now having a creator as a curator is appealing indeed and I guess I will pay for it if depending on the quality of the free version.

This post gave me an interesting fintech idea however Kash! Will reach out to you separately and perhaps later to the other indiehackers to get their thoughts!

This was indeed my worry - the "I'll just google it myself" mentality is justified for founders. Perhaps I just need to create an MVP of a few issues to gauge interest from there...

Definitely interested to hear what you're thinking on the fintech side! I've done quite a bit of consulting for the big banks, happy to provide feedback/provide a sounding board as you think things through.
