Would you pay someone to record a video going through your product’s user experience?

I don’t know what the confusing parts around my product are, but I know there are parts that could be better. It would be cool to see from the perspective of a new user. Would you pay someone to make a video going through on-boarding? Why or why not? How do you know what needs improvement?

I think the challenge around paying people to make a video of the onboarding is that you're not entirely sure if the people you pay are actually representative of what your users will be. There's still value in the qualitative analysis, but I think it requires being selective of who provides the feedback. I once worked on an education app and had someone who taught the subject go through my app. He could tell me all the points various students he had in the past would get stuck and what their thought process was. I'd probably find an expert in your domain to go through the onboarding.

Which means one possible way is to ask an existing user to walk through the product. If it's an existing customer, you can offer some sort of compensation like a free PRO-plan for a few months.

Very good point. I know for my product, my users all need to have a good understanding of another tool in order to stand a chance at being successful with my tool.

Yes, I do it for free. Would be cool to get paid for doing it

Yes, take a look at https://theuserisdrunk.com/ the service is now closed but it generated some interest. Probably because of the premise behind it.

There is a need to get feedback on an application, but you need to give a lot of value. Take for example https://detailed.com/audit/ they do something similar but with SEO.

But @ProfessorBeekums is right, you should focus on potential users of your app, to get the right feedback.
