Would you take a #100DaysOf<x> challenge for 2022?

As I got a bit disappointed at how much I managed to learn in 2021, I decided - shortly before the end of year - to commit to a 100 days challenge! The idea is very simple:

learn something new each day for 100 days in a row

Some people may set the goal to spend 1 hour daily on their topic, others 30 minutes, and others may just be happy with any undefined amount of time as long as they feel they made progress!

My pick: data
Data is my job but also a true passion for me. The data landscape is evolving rapidly and there are amazing innovations out there to discover, use, learn from. So I'll try to learn something new on the data field x100. I didn't build a full calendar as I want to keep flexibility, but I already know some of the topics I want to deep dive into like DBT or the newest Google Cloud Platform services.

The power of public commitment
As research as shown that public commitment increases significantly one's goals achievement, it is now popular to tweet about your #100Days challenge, including your daily progress. So I'm giving a try to that too!

What about you?
Do you think such a challenge could help you in your Indie Hacker journey? I'd be curious to know more about any other techniques or routines you have :-)

Good luck on your mission, Marie! 100 days of learning sounds pretty awesome!!

I actually really want to do a creative challenge. For example, it's currently Genuary, a solid month of Generative Art challenges. Looks great! So, I guess I'd really like to do #100DaysofGenArt, or #100DaysofIllustrations, or #100DaysofColorField

Problem is usually these challenges take my attention away from "the big thing", or at any rate I perceive them as potentially taking attention away from it. So I keep putting them off, even though the real thieves-of-time I need to contend with are Youtube, Twitter, streaming services, etc.

Hmm, maybe I should do #100DaysofTheBigThing. Afterwards I can do something more fun.

Ahah I like the BigThing option!
Regarding your time-consuming apps, have you ever considered/tried setting up daily timers on your phone to restrict usage? I guess it's now embedded in most OS... Kind of helped me ;-)

I have tried a manner of use-restriction tools, but alas, sometimes it's all too easy to convince myself to just turn them off for a bit. A work in progress.
