Hi All,
I am a user researcher and I usually work on contract gigs where I apply to jobs. Inspired by other productized design based businesses, I was wondering if I could also productize my services.
For example - Buy a user research package that includes 4-5 user interviews (I would recruit users myself), competitive analysis, and secondary market research for $750 -$1000 with a weeks turnover time.
The user research output could potentially look somewhat like this (this deck doesn't have market analysis but you get the point) - https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1yJZLy1L02FbrXrZvtrljnb5jBPV_ttXvTh4HIl-ojHE/edit?usp=sharing
Would you use such a service? If not why? If yes, are you comfortable with my price range and time it would take?
Any advice on this would be SUPER HELPFUL. I feel really stuck :(
A mistake we made early on — only doing user research when planning a new feature. The reality is your existing customers are constantly telling you what's working and what isn't through their daily interactions. Every support ticket is a data point. Every Slack message is a signal. The best user research is continuous, not periodic.
I see value in this idea, however, personally, I wouldn't be willing to pay that price (even on the behalf of my org) but you should be concentrating on selling this to clients out of India who are in general more willing to pay for such services
