WP Bloggers / Website Creators—How Long for Site to Consistently Earn $100+ per Month?
For IH with a WordPress website/blog—How long did it take for you to cross $100 MRR? What methods did use to monetize your site (Ads, Affiliate Marketing, selling your own product, etc.) ?
Honestly, it's all about mastering seo so you can rank for content and getting some interest traffic in there. If you understand that and produce content every week, I'd imagine you can start making income 100$/month by 5-6 months.
I'm currently finishing month 1 of having a blog - so far I've made $2 😂 and ranked 1 article in google. What I've realized and learned so far is that google ranking is 100% the way to go and is definitely controllable if you understand SEO. Pinterest is also a super easy way to get a great amount of traffic. My only issue is not having enough content 🤦♀️
If I had a bunch more content I could proably already be making 100$ a month! (or a lot more 😂)
This is a similar timeline to my current experience starting a new blog.
I mainly asked because I had a successful blog years ago, but wasn’t sure what the ramp up time was like today compared to then.

What I've noticed is that people who start from nothing and put out consistent quality content without any help start making income at about 8 months on average. The less you know when you start, the longer the process takes.
Currently I'm only monetizing through affiliate links - I don't have enough traffic for any good ad sites yet, so I'm just working on building my content, reputation, and getting to know my niche better. I'm about to start up and eccomerce affiliate store (next week it should be ready) and soon I'll be doing content exclusively for members who pay a subscription and want 1-1 help.

i made like $44k a year. so, it didn't take long. but, i went hardcore on it.
but, this shit works differently now. so, i'm not sure how long it would take.
Why the pivot away from blogging? We’re there just other projects you were passionate about pursuing?

yes. everyday. my attempts at problogging started and stopped way back then. i write for myself now, not for money.
That's what's so impressive -the everyday for 19 years part.
I bet you make more money now though, with that shift in approach.
i make more than $50k per year now, that's for sure... but, i know that i could be making much more if i went in hardcore with it.
but, i didn't and i'm glad. writing for money, directly, isn't my cup of tea.

I started selling a book through my website around 6 months after I started blogging. And I would say it took me a year after that to reach 100U$/month in revenue. I must also clarify that I have never optimized for revenue, but for exposure in my niche.
Took me 6 months to earn $100 per month. I started in January and now I am earning $120 per month. I used AdSense and affiliate both.

I think it depends on your content, how often you post, and if you get lucky :). I was fortunate to have my first ever blog post shared on HackADay, Wired, and LifeHacker. I didn't have ads but fortunately I used Amazon affiliate links on the post. I was able to make $500 in 3 days. This hooked me to keep blogging and now I have over 140 post. I definitely recommend blogging!
