Hi there, my name is Ruslan and I am a Wordpress developer. For the past 15 years, I have been jumping between freelance work and employment, always searching for a side project that would bring in passive income. I initially started by creating animations for microstocks using AfterEffects and C4D, and it was quite successful until my Shutterstock account was banned due to copyright issues. After that, I tried blogging but soon realized it wasn't something that interested me. I then attempted to launch an e-commerce store for personalized gifts in Israel, but the business took a hit during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the lockdown, I looked for new side projects that would be interesting to me and stumbled upon video automations. I found it to be an exciting field and created scripts that generated videos from scraped data on the internet and uploaded them automatically to YouTube. However, Google did not approve of this, and I had to come up with a new idea.
I then thought of developing a tool that would allow bloggers and copywriters to create videos directly from the Wordpress dashboard. This tool would enable users to design their own videos, choose fonts and colors, add music, and even generate voiceovers using the Google text-to-speech API. I created the backend for my plugin using the Codestar Framework, which was a relatively easy task. The challenge was in finding a way to render videos with all the graphic assets. I tried various methods such as puppetry and headless browsers, but none of them produced the desired results.
Finally, I discovered Remotion, a fast and powerful rendering solution that could be further enhanced by integrating it with AWS Lambda. I also found a developer from Brazil who helped me set up the necessary infrastructure. It took me about 4 months to develop and launch my first SaaS product, WPVIDEOBAKER - a Wordpress plugin that allows users to convert blog posts into videos within minutes, directly from the post editor.
My main goal with this product was to create a powerful tool that would allow bloggers and content writers to convert their blog posts and articles into videos easily and cost-effectively, thereby enlarging their audience, getting more traffic, and bringing more attention to their content.
I would love to know your thoughts on this product, is it helpful for you? Would you use it for your business? If you had some experience with promoting this kind of products I would be happy to hear your experience.
If you gone give a try for WPVIDEOBAKER please give me some feedback about your experience with this plugin. If you have any questions, DM me pls.
