Write a Book For Free

We're going to write a book. Right now. For Free.

Step 1 Download

1. Loom.com
2. Descript.com
3. Google Docs (you should have this already)
4. Sign up for Gumroad if you wanna sell it.

Step 2 Outline

1. go to chrome
2. doc.new
3. Write an outline of your book.
4. Limit it to 8 chapters, for now.
5. It will really be 10 chapters plus Intro and Epilogue

Step 3 Record Your Video

1. Open loom. and Descript (yes we'll need that later, but now we need it open)
2. Record yourself reciting your first chapter.
3. Yes talk through the first chapter. Lay it all out on the line.
4. Stop the recording
5. Descript will ping you, a little pop up message. It knows you have a loom video on your clipboard.
6. Upload your video to Descript.

Step 4 Edit the Transcript

1. Create a transcript. (you have up to 3 hours for free)
2. Edit that transcript as you wish. (You're also editing video at this point)
3. Copy that transcript to your google doc.

Step 5 Repeat Step 2 and 3 for each chapter.

1. That's it. Just repeat it.
2. Make sure you have all 8 chapters done, before moving on.

Step 6 Do the Intro.

1. Now record your intro. You know what they are about to embark on.
2. You can speak as if you've been there. Because you were.

Step 7 Format and Print

1. Format the titles, and the writing as much as you want. You can do it!
2. Download as a PDF.

YOU GOT A BOOK!

Step 8 Soft Launch

1. You may have noticed I missed the Epilogue. We'll get there.
2. Send the damn thing.
3. Get it in front of 20 people to read it.

Step 9 Edit it all Again

1. Take all that feedback and edit the damn thing.
2. Maybe you missed adding a table of contents.
3. Maybe you could edit something. go ahead edit it.
4. Record an epilogue. Add that into the doc. Thank everyone who read it early on.

Step 10 Launch

1. Download as a PDF.
2. Launch it!
3. Put it on Gumroad for $9.
4. Tweet about it.
5. You have 20 people who should want you to succeed.

1. Create a YouTube channel
2. Upload your videos.
