Write and post to your blog from Gmail - a Hey World alternative
Backstory
A couple of months ago, the Basecamp guys launched Hey and Hey World to bring a new email and blogging experience into the mix.
Hey World lets you write blog posts straight from your Hey.com inbox which show up on https://world.hey.com. Neat!
The Good:
- People love the friction free blogging experience of Hey World
The Bad:
- to use Hey World, you need a Hey.com account.
- your email address is visible to everyone because your posts sit on https://world.hey.com/<your-email-address>!
- And they don't have Hey World on your own domain (yet)
My Solution
So I built https://moogle.cc which lets you write and post to your blog from Gmail. Post to your blog hosted as a subdomain of moogle is free. If you want to host your blog on your own domain, it is $5/month.

I wonder how difficult could it be to use the same technology but connected to wordpress, so you can allow users to sign up here and add credentials to wordpress :)
Not sure what you mean though I'd love to know more. Do you want to post to wordpress from moogle? Does wordpress work with APIs as a body-less frontend? If it does, then I'm pretty sure we can connect the backend (Moogle) to WordPress (frontend).
That’s exactly what I meant. I’m not blogging right now but I guess this integration could be a good idea as there are thousands of Wordpress sites out there.
I did a similar integration a few years ago. I used the “/xmlrpc.php” endpoint.
So, basically you could offer the emailToBlog as a stand-alone service if they already have a Wordpress site.

I looked into what you suggested. Since WP has a REST api which lets us create blog posts using a /posts API, I don't think we even need to go down the xml-rpc route.
It could simply be a way to POST to WP via email.
