Hi everyone,
I'm Jaime and I'm an IndieHacker based in Australia π
My cofounder & I are bootstrapping an new content tool called: www.WriteMind.ai
WriteMind help Founders write emails and create content faster by using AI.
We've tried to keep the UI simple and have added some basic functionality such as:
I know you're busy with your own projects but if you have a couple of minutes to share any feedback it would be really appreciated. (I'm very happy to return the favour :)
We've been building in isolation so are really curious to hear what people think π
Thanks so much for your help ππ»
Leaving the design and UX aside (which needs improvement), i find the content output to be nice but nothing special for blog posts. ChatGPT would give pretty much the same output.
What's your reason for building this writing tool when ChatGPT is right here? Are you using a custom trained model? Or have you built prompts that are supposed to give good outputs later down the line? It's probably not a product for me but maybe those who find ChatGPT "hard" to use, will find this useful.
Edit: all that said, it offers a nice experience that people may want. Enter topic, select what the output should be and get the entire output.
Thanks so much for the feedback :)
You are right in saying the document creation experience is very similar to ChatGPT. We're fine tuning the prompts to produce better results but I'm sure someone who researched a little would be able to achieve similar results.
One area where we can offer some benefit over chatgpt is the refinement / crafting of the document once it's been created.
I appreciate the UX dosen't really do a good job yet and showcasing the functionally only after once a document is created. You can edit the document, then use further ai prompts to generate /edit/ transform, sentences, words or paragraphs.
Once users get used to it we think its much easier to actually generate and polish content compared to fiddling with prompts until it generates an ok document.
However I do appreciate your point "what makes you different?" :)
What would you think if it was a browser plugin that could assist with your email responses?
Hey, it's great to see you take my comment positively. Let me dive a little deeper into this.
I've been a Jasper user since they started with the $99/month unlimited Boss mode (I'm on their grandfathered plan but it's about $5k per month now for new users).
The reason they can charge a premium is that the output quality of Jasper is unmatched even by ChatGPT. I'm not sure what writing they retrained the language model on, but it's phenomenal.
Then I tried rytr and writesonic when they launched on appsumo, and the outputs were absolute garbage. It was evident they were using curie or ai21 or some other low-cost model.
The most awesome part about WriteMind is that you're not cutting corners by using a low-end GPT model. The output looks like davinci output which is great.
But anyone who has a little bit of coding know-how can reverse engineer the prompt and create a writing tool.
If I had to differentiate in this crowded AI writer market, I'd do this:
Hope that helps! :)
Edit: also, did you ask an AI to write your reply? It seems quite strange when you say:
"However I do appreciate your point "what makes you different?" :)"
And also at a few more places. Anyway, I'll assume English isn't your first language :)
Looks pretty nice for a website.
Curious, how does this differ from other AI writing tools? There are so many nowadays
