So after doing an AMA about two weeks ago which got a bunch of engagement, and seeing so many talented people looking for some direction on marketing their idea, I've set myself a challenge to write a guide/playbook for you all!
I've been meaning to publish something for a while, so this is a nice personal goal. It'll, of course, be free.
But I need your help. What are your biggest challenges when launching your side-project, idea or startup? How can I make this guide so damn valuable to you especially? What sucks about other e-books/guides you find online (I for sure feel that they're always so unactionable).
I believe it'll take a few months to write, but It'll be worth it :)
If you are a developer this GitHub link will give you everything you need - https://github.com/LisaDziuba/Marketing-for-Engineers
Thanks!
I would get a lot of value out of something that focuses on going from 0 --> 1. That's where I am for my project right now (www.tribefive.me for reference), and even if the material is similar to others (such as https://makebook.io/), it would still be good to read about a different perspective or example that I could leverage for Tribe of Five.
Happy to chat more if you want to ask any questions!
Cheers,
Jonathan
This is pretty solid: https://playbook.cio.gov/
I think the hardest thing for any startup is finding its first 100 paying customers. The exact step-by-step process with the list of tools list is definitely what i would read.
I heartily second this suggestion.
Once a startup gets to around 100 paying users, the rest can be figured out because you already have PMF. Also, the 100 users add a fair bit of change to the MRR.
Steli Efti over at Close.io wrote a great piece on going from 10-100 customers but the broad principles remain the same(http://blog.close.io/10-to-100-customers)
Totally, I get that. It'll be broken into B2B and B2C
